Music for Your Eyes / May I Kiss Your Brain Madame is a polite request to enter a person’s experiences. The film’s vignette has another text that reads “Music for Your Eyes – music and visual impressions in psychedelic union”. The clubs of the 1960s, with their fluorescent lights, leave traces of memories. Esselius creates fractals and kaleidoscopic patterns, doll faces that rush past the screen and return – a dangerous invitation that possibly mimics an influence of more than just sound and image – a twisting psychedelic experience. The music throbs, the brain registers. It’s all about film and not at all about reality.
Born in 1948 in Stockholm, Sweden, where he is still based.
