A Ruda Roadmovie
Marie Bondeson

When I met Douglas Fransson in a small village in the south of Sweden, he had been unemployed for a while. He took me a long on a car trip through Ruda, where he had lived his entire life. He wanted to show me what had happened.

About the artist

Born in 1957 in Ängelholm, Sweden. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Marie Bondeson has studied at the School of Design and Crafts and at Valands Academy of Art in Gothenburg. She works with video, sound and sculpture. Part of her artist statement is: “I deal with the conscious mind as terra incognita and perception as a door to the irrational. I am interested in the issue of borders, how we define borders around the Real, around the I, around Normality. How the ambiguity of language construct reality.”

Last year she was granted Art Residency France, Helge Ax:on Johnsson stiftelse, and also Art Residency Fårö, Ingmar Bergman’s Foundation. Exhibitions during 2018 include Gallery 54 Gothenburg (solo), Konstnärshuset Stockholm (solo) and Dreamsisters at KC gallery, Gothenburg among others.
