In the exhibition I like maps, because they lie, Marika Reuterswärd presents a number of video artworks that in different ways explore geographical concepts in relation to the individual, society and politics in a changing time. The exhibition takes place at Kristianstads konsthall from Oktober 12 to Mars 2nd 2025. Using the map as a starting point, the artists ask questions such as: how have explorers and historical mapmakers influenced our time? How are boundaries on a map visible in our everyday lives? Or, can we trust the geographical landscapes we encounter in media and film? Video art is combined with an exploration of the history of maps as objects with visual content and narrative.
