In countries where democracy does not exist and people are oppressed, political actions become a way to put forward opinions and to protest against the powers that be. In Sweden, the interest for this art form has increased lately, among both artists and curators. The actions are ways to express one self, examine situations and expose one self to meetings in unprotected areas. The public space such as the street, the marketplace or the department store is transformed into a natural stage. Even the private home might be more interesting for an artist than art centres or galleries. Art is displaced and barges its way, picks a fight and questions. Few performances and political actions are accessible after the actual event. This screening is an opportunity for you to watch some of them.
