Filmform is the oldest existing organization in Sweden devoted to the promotion, preservation and distribution of film and video art, often engaged as an advisor to museums, galleries, universities and festivals. Our collection includes titles dating from 1924 until today whereof 800 titles in distribution.
Anna-Helen and Dvan are driving along the ocean in Athens. It is early morning, they seem to have been fighting. On the radio is a show about the end of the world. They stop in the harbor next to a car with a gorilla mask over it’s head rest.
In a sailing yacht out on open sea a strong wind moves them forward and land disappears. They don’t speak. Suddenly a loud sound rises from the ocean, an earthquake. The radio stops working. Their phones doesn’t work, they drift. The ocean is completely still.
She is scared, he looks at the sky and sees particles disappearing out into the universe. She tells him he’s imagining and he asks her why she wished he was dead.
As she falls asleep below deck, the boat drifts by the wind, the air is thin and hard to breathe. The sky shifts and their world resolves into millions of small particles that disappears out into the universe.
Jennifer Rainsford, born 1982 in Stockholm, is an artist and director based in Stockholm and Paris. With a strong visual ability and willingness to challenge prevailing conventions in documentary film, art and television, she has since 2008 made several short films and documentaries shown at film festivals, art galleries, and on TV. In 2010 Jennifer graduated from the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Stockholm where she studied Fine Arts and has also studied scriptwriting at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, SADA.
Since 2011 she has worked as a journalist and documentary filmmaker at the cult TV- show Tracks on Arte in Paris. For the show she has directed and produced short documentaries about music, film, art and future technologies in East Africa, United States, Europe and China. She is the founder and member of the art and film production collective Crystal Beacon and her movies has been screened at festivals like Oberhausen, Belinale, Rotterdam and CPH:DOX.
