Fire Work
BY
Stina Wirfelt

The video connects Irish ghost estates, a Hollywood film shoot in Glasgow, a hearsay story about a man finding playing cards, and two misplaced mosaics in Edinburgh, by using elements of a living room. The room is inhabited by an unreliable narrator, who explores facts, fiction and his personal memories whilst telling the story. The connections made are sometimes obvious, sometimes obscure, all of them originating from the psychogeographical surroundings of the main protagonist.

About the artist

Stina Wirfelt

Stina Wirfelt is an artist based in Scotland and Sweden. Her work identifies and constructs points where different stories meet and merge. These concurrent narratives can be coincidental or scripted, or both. An underlying theme is the mind’s constant search for “meaning” and how knowledge is made and constructed. Since graduating with an MFA from Malmö Art Academy in 2007 she has participated in LUX Associate Artist Program in London.
