Dan Lageryd

Over a period of six months I’ve driven a certain distance in Stockholm a total of ten times, with a video camera mounted on the car. For each trip the camera is pointed in a different direction. I have then used the footage to reconstruct the journey into a panoramic video collage, thus creating an image wider than the human eye normally can register, not least considering the simultaneous display of footage recorded at different times. Also, ten times the sound of traffic, the sound of the car and sometimes even fragments of the conversation taking place inside the car are multiplied into one roaring ‘soundtrack’. The film is loopable. It’s best viewed using 10 video projectors, one for each sequence, reconstructing the collage on the wall or the screen.
