Rewind, Remix, Reclaim Festival in Nairobi presents a screening of Gunvor Nelson & Dorothy Wiley’s ‘SCHMEERGUNTZ’ on the 19th of July. The work is presented as a part of the festival which aims to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the UN World Conference on Women held in July 1985 through a thought-provoking 11-day programme featuring exhibitions, conversations, films, workshops and performances. The curator for the screening is Shamina Rajab.

The festival commemorates the 40th anniversary of the UN World Conference on Women held in July 1985 through a thought-provoking 11-day programme featuring exhibitions, conversations, films, workshops and performances.
This artistic retrospective examines the Conference’s legacy and creates space for fresh dialogue around the modern-day challenges faced by women. An initiative of the Alliance Française de Nairobi and Goethe-Institut Nairobi, in partnership with UN Women Eastern and Southern Africa, supported by the Franco-German Cultural Fund.
