During the 2025 edition of the international dance and theater festival euro-scene Leipzig, Marcus Lindeen’s ‘Regretters’ will be screened on the 7th of November, free admission. The screening is curated by Christian Watty. Tickets and information on the festival website.

Mikael and Orlando – two men in their 60s who meet for an open, very personal conversation. Both decided to undergo gender transition surgery at different stages of their lives and later chose to reverse the procedure. In conversation, they talk about transition and re-transition, doubts and identity. Mikael immediately regretted the operation, while Orlando, one of Sweden’s first transgender persons, now consciously lives beyond clear gender boundaries.
The film sheds light on a taboo subject and asks fundamental questions about social norms. REGRETTERS won the Prix Europa (2010) and the Guldbagge Award (2011), among others, and was screened at festivals worldwide, at MoMA New York and at the NCCA Moscow – and was also adapted as a play.
