Malin Pettersson Öberg is a visual artist working in a variety of media. Her narrative based-videos and installation works are grounded in a sincere curiosity and engagement with the surrounding world, through multi-disciplinary knowledge exchanges. This manifests in meditative and intimate works, where everyday encounters and research methods meet audiovisual and material exploration. Her in-depth investigations often address existential, social and political issues such as the complex urban planning process of the city of Stockholm or the aftermath of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Malin Pettersson Öberg has taken part in numerous exhibitions and screenings in Sweden and abroad, most recently at SKF/Konstnärshuset (2024) and ArkDes – The Swedish National Centre for Architecture and Design (2018). She has published with Arvinius + Orfeus (2023) and OEI (2020), and she currently holds a teaching position at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.
