Nanna Hellberg is a Swedish artist working with video, performance and music. Her art has something restrained yet potentially explosive about it. Her work refers to autobiographical narratives as well as music and subcultures, religious rituals and transgressive cinema. It is often physical and action oriented.
“Encounters with nature and nature substitutes are recurrent themes in my artworks. I combine references to music and folklore with poetic narratives inspired by dreams and fantasies. I’m primarily working with video, photography and sound, often combined in large-scale atmospheric installations”. – Nanna Hellberg
