Filmform was founded in 1950 and is one of the oldest archives in the world that collect video art and experimental film. Filmform promote, distribute and preserve Swedish art film.

The idea to invite special guests to curate programmes, with material chosen from the archive, has been considered at Filmform for a long time. The intention is to let the archive’s material be filtered through different people’s experiences, interests and reflections. As readings vary from one person to another and change overtime, archives should be used over and over again. Filmform’s archive contains a rich variety of expressions, techniques and themes – with Swedish experimental film and video art from 1924 until today.
