Filmform presents Filmform News #2017 at 63. Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.

The program is a selection of new titles in distibution and are available to rent for public screenings from Filmform.

PROGRAM:

My Lindh – Nordic Panoramas, Landscape No. 1 (2015)
‘Nordic Panoramas, Landscape No. 1’, deals with the image of the Nordic landscape. By deconstructing the national romantic view, the work explores notions of origin, the supposedly natural and ideas about national identity.

Joanna Rytel – Stay Ups (2017)
A middle-aged woman and her child live in an open plan apartment. The woman will once again get a nightly visit from a very young guy and the child gets in the way, as usual.

Peter Larsson – Walk on a Stick and Cry (2015)
This is the result of a research of finding new ways to animate with clay. Rebecca Digby´s sound collage, made from woven cassette tapes, gives the clay a voice and creates small, short social sceneries. A conversation takes place between the abstract formations who are arguing and worrying.

Stina Wirfelt – Rolls and Shutters (2016)
The video examines the photographic archive of Craigmillar Festival Society. Rather than detailing the facts of the photographs, the narrator uses them to recall her own memories of making photographs as a teenager, which leads her to question her own position of privilege.

Maja Borg – Man (2016)
‘Man’ is an expansion of gender and language, a journey of physical transformation through the wilderness of pregnancy.

Aujik – Spatial Bodies (2016)
‘Spatial Bodies’ depicts the urban landscape and architectural bodies as an autonomous living and self replicating organism. Domesticated and cultivated only by its own nature. A vast concrete vegetation, oscillating between order and chaos. Music specially composed by Daisuke Tanabe. Filmed in Osaka, Japan.
