and guests at Klarabiografen
The 11th of November at Klarabiografen (Klara Cinema),
Kulturhuset in Stockholm
Marie-Louise Ekman is the first special guest to present
selected highlights from The Filmform Archive.
Filmform was founded in 1950 and is one of the oldest
archives in the world that collect video art and experimental
film. They promote, distribute and preserve Swedish
art film.
The idea to invite special guests to curate programmes,
with material chosen from the archive, has been considered
at Filmform for a long time. The intention is to let
the archive's material be filtered through different
people's experiences, interests and reflections. As
readings vary from one person to another and change
overtime, archives should be used over and over again.
Filmform's archive contains a rich variety of expressions,
techniques and themes - with Swedish experimental film
and video art from 1924 until today.
The programme is curated by Marie-Louise Ekman, artist,
filmmaker, dramatist and rector at the Royal University
College of Fine Arts.
Date/Time: 11th of
November, 15.00
Tickets: 30 SKr.
Age limit: 15
Location: Klarabiografen
(Klara Cinema), Kulturhuset, Stockholm.

Presents Nature Films
30th of September at The Cinematheque in Stockholm
What about Nature? What is actually happening? What
are we human beings doing? Will we be punished for our
egoistic exploitation of Nature (the environment)? Has
the world we live in, and depend upon, had enough? Will
it retaliate against years of abuse? In Filmform's first
Nature programme human beings are in focus, for better
of for worse. The trio Heilborn, Nilsson and Kim Hiorthøy
bring matters to a head in their film “Hur man
gör” (What You Do). They leave us with questions
whether humans are quite right in the head. Is everything
a game and why was the film made in the first place?
Timo Menke's and Nils Aglder's Fugitives from the Field
displays a more serious aspect of the matter. The film
is about people who have developed electro-hypersensitivity
and have had to escape from urban life to live as close
to nature as possible. The Hunter and the Dog are main
characters in Henry Coombe's mad “Laddy and the
Lady” and in the final video “Scream”
by High Heel Sisters we hear a roar of frustration from
the top of a mountain hill.
